Paddles Up for the Kingston Dragon Boat Festival

Kingston, Ontario, August 21st 2017 – The Kingston Dragon Boat Club and the Heart & Stroke Foundation will be hosting the annual Kingston Dragon Boat Festival on Saturday, August 26th 2017 taking place at Emma Martin Park from 9 am – 2pm. This will be the festival’s 18th successful year of raising funds for local charities with an action packed day of team building, racing, on-shore vendors, and live entertainment. All funds this year will be dedicated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.


Teams will paddle in historic Canadian waters with races in the Great Waterway of Kingston’s Inner Harbour.  Call us today if you want to paddle!  The Kingston Dragon Boat Festival provides opportunities for corporate team building and plenty of on shore activities.  Welcome to our paddling teams:

  • St Lawrence College and Queen’s University

The Kingston Dragon Boat Festival will begin at 9:00 am with races and onshore entertainment – kicking off with a Tao Chi demo from Tallack Martial Arts, Lion Dancing, opening ceremonies at 12 noon welcoming our MPP Sophie Kiwala, traditional Chinese kite decorating and flying, and of course – races throughout the day with the finals around 2:00 pm.


All of this year’s proceeds are will go to the Heart & Stroke Foundation to fund continuous lifesaving research. Every day, a Canadian of any age dies from such related diseases every seven minutes.
