How long are the races?
The races are approximately 400 metres. All times will be added together to place team in a Division final at the end.
Where can I park?
There will be parking lots allocated for festival attendees, as well as street parking near by. We encourage alternative methods of transportation such as walking, biking or taking the bus as parking is limited.
Is there a fee to attend the festival?
There is no fee to attend the festival but donations made towards The Heart and Stroke Foundation are always greatly appreciated! It is strongly suggested to bring cash for food and other activities throughout the day,
Is there somewhere I can put my stuff during the day?
Competing teams will have an area dedicated to them on the festival grounds. Please leave your belongings at your own risk as The Kingston Dragon Boat Club and The Heart and Stroke Foundation are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
What happens if it rains?
Races will continue as scheduled unless there is thunder and lightening.
Will there be an ATM on site?
There will not be an ATM on site. Please prepare accordingly by bringing cash so you can enjoy everything the Kingston Dragon Boat Festival for Heart and Stroke has to offer.
What do I need to bring?
You need to bring your team of 20 paddlers to fill a boat. Boats and paddles will be provided for your team. If you have a flotation device, please bring it, otherwise they will be provided. Steersperson will be provided on the day if teams do not have their own. Drummers will not be provided and are optional.
Will tax receipts be given for pledges I raise?
Tax receipts will be given to donations of $20 and above. Complete name and address will be required for donations receipts to be processed.
What time will races begin and end?
The first race will begin at 9am at Emma Martin Park, 4 Cataraqui St. The day will run through the afternoon until 2pm.
What is the entry fee for my team?
The entry fee is $700 per team, regardless of the number of paddlers. Teams are encouraged to collect pledges to help support Heart and Stroke Foundation.
